V6 4 motion Bora exhaust note.

I love the note of the R32 and was wondering if a V6 Bora is capable of delivering a similar note with the right exhaust?

I'll be interested to see educated replies, but from my side it looks like there is more restriction (suitcase?) and different lengths for the Bora. Plus you have a different engine size 2.8L vs 3.2L - which is stroked only I believe?

Very similar, as it's a similar engine in terms of configuration (15º V6). It lacks some of the capacity (down 12.5% on the R32), and the R32 engine is more advanced in some ways, but the overall exhaust notes with similar exhaust systems are quite similar.

    It's one reason I chose the Bora V6 4Motion.

If you search YouTube for videos for the Bora V6 4Motion or Jetta 24v V6, you should get some good examples.

The suitcase and length are indeed different (the Bora has the suitcase, and is a longer system overall due to the length of the sedan). The R32 has a flapper as well, which reduces restriction at higher revs.

Suitcase delete on the Bora's certainly possible though.

Mine came with a Milltek cat back system, sounds like a car to me!

Makes nice burbling sound at low RPM.

This is mine, R32 muffler with centre cat removed. I should do one on the ground as a comparison, I like both with centre cat and without but the fact that I can switch the exhaust to quiet or loud is one of the reasons I went this way...

The muffler came from a fella on here (John) who had upgraded hi r32.

    Been thinking about this mod.

Photos of the plumbing would be good?
