Wouldn't you want more air being able to get to the CAI?

that would get more air in but it can get water in as well. Perth's sewage system is not that good. As soon as it raines you get big puddles that you can't avoid. I can always take it out if i need more air

Alrighty then. That's the good thing about the BMC CDA (as opposed to a pod). Because only the hose hangs down, you'd pretty much have to submerse the thing to get it to suck any water up to the filter and then into engine.
    Cheers,

True but the BMC one was $600+ and mina was $250 and fits perfectly. It looks much better than the BMC too

Cai's are pretty easy to make-I'm sure any place where you live that deals with intercoolers or exhausts can make you 1. Or you can use prebent aluminium piping with some silicone couplers. If your worried about water run the Aem bypass valve. Also you would have to drive through some pretty deep water. The bottem of my filter is 7inchs off the ground and the top 13inches off the ground so for me I would have to drive through water that is deep as the top of the vents on the R bumper. Also when i made my Cai i wanted the filter to be low as possible. Also you can buy different size filters. No sure if that helps at all- and i dont run the bypass with mine. The R has only seen rain a hand full of times. Cheers Jay
