Got it straight from VW. Just got them to look up the part number for a Golf or Polo. Comes in three parts, all up about $50.
Don't forget you have to sand down the cap to get it to fit.

Well one new toy anyway. Arrived today from New York. One by Seat Cupra lip.
Fitting will be this weekend with my trusty heat gun.

Righto then. A couple of updates. The first one is that I got new tyres on yesterday. A brand new set of shiny Pirelli P-Zero Neros. Oooh... Pictures will be in the next post.
At the same time I got the gutter rash on all four wheels fixed up. What can I say it's good to have wheels that look like new for the first time since I got the car.
Excuse my camera, I think whatever it's got it's terminal.

Trent - the new lip looks much neater and looks more OEM than it did before.

The wheels came up a treat! I love the R32's wheels and now that they are pretty again they look even better. Nice work!

Thanks mate. The lip is no lower than the old one so it's only the quite steep drives that I will have to go up or down sideways. You can't really see from the before photo how ripped up the lip was. I scraped it a few times, but didn't make it any worse than what it already was. At least it gave me the limits for angles for the new lip.

    Installing the Seat Cupra lip.

First step is to remove the one piece plastic undertray which stretches the entire width of the car. This undertray also forms the existing front lip as well. That is it is a molded part tray. Screws run all along the edge of the bumper. Three screws in each wheel arch at the bottom need to be removed. There are also two screws towards the middle of the tray left and right and two screws at the back of the tray left and right.
Note that the euro bumper is different from the US bumper. It has two trays one for each side and nothing in the center. From what I can tell the US bumpers also don't have the euro lip.

Picture of the tray and new lip

The lip on the tray. Note the predicament. The Cupra lip is much narrower and bends differently.

The next step however is to take a trusty stanley knife and cut off the existing left and right lips. The plastic of the undertray is quite soft and cuts off easily if your knife is sharp if not, a heat gun is your friend. The lip needs to be cut off because the Cupra lips curls around and will not fit over the existing lip.

Next step is to make the grooves on the undertray deeper (see are highlighted below). Once again the stanley knife is your friend. The reason for doing this is that the center bit of the Cupra lip needs to fit on the bottom of the tray as the tray will go above the bumper. The left and right parts of the Cupra lips (from the circled bit) needs to go between the tray and bumper. Where I have circled on the lip has to fit into the groove. Without making the groove deeper the lip will not slide in far enough.

The next step is to cut the tops off the posts in the middle of the lip. You can cut them totally off but I decided to leave them quite tall to allow force the center of the lip to go lower.

Now for the fun bit of attaching the lip to the tray. You want to create holes on the lip where the holes are on the tray so you don't have to drill new holes in your bumper. I recommend starting with the holes near where I have highlighted above. Once you have got these aligned properly and drilled put the screws in to hold it in place. You can then work outwards on each side easily drilling and putting in a screw as you go.

When you come to the curve you have too options. You can force the lip out quite easily but you will have to hold it tight while you drill and it will be more difficult when it comes to reattaching to the bumper. The other option is to use a heat gun to bend it out a bit. I chose to do a combination of the two. I didn't bend it out all the way as I didn't want to risk damaging the lip with the heat gun.

With the last two holes on each side you will have to really force them in or use a heat gun.

Then you're done. The lip is ready to be attached to the bumper

Finally and probably the hardest bit is attaching the whole lot back to the bumper. If you can lift the front of the car up or remove the bumper i would say that doing this will make the whole experience a lot easier.
I attached the undertray screws at the back and middle first so at least it's sitting there. Don't forget the center of the tray has to go up inside the bumper. Put the 3 center screws in tight then as once the lip goes on you can't get to these again with a normal tx screwdriver.

Then fit the lip and start putting the screws back in in the same order as you did before. If you didn't use a heat gun and forced the size this is where aligning the holes back up will be difficult. If you remove the bumper insets out you can see the holes in the side of the bumper which can help with guiding the screws in. Just remember if you put a torch in there to take it out again.

Once you have the lip attached put the wheel arch screws back in. Finally you will need to trim the ends of the lip off as they protrude into the wheel arch. I used garden shears to do this as someone on Vortex recommended it. They worked like a charm.

The result. Excuse the filthy car.

If there's any R32 drivers that are interested, OZaudi currently has a group buy on for the A3 and S3 owners. Link
I think I have seen it done for the GTI somewhere on Vortex. Have a search in the archives to see how hard it was.

    Cheers

    Looks good mate!
A question: how come both of your side grills in the bumper are blocked off? I think the left one is the one that is supposed to be blocked. There is some kind of a radiator behind the right one

Bit confused with your question. Does yours look different? I noticed that Hitman's grills looked the same as mine before he popped them all out.
From the front on photos, the one on the left (ie. drivers side) has the radiator thingy and and the pasenger side on the right has a big space where my cai will go when I get it.
