You can never scratch your hands enough getting them into ridiculously tight spaces. I now have a greater appreciation for VW having fit that engine and all the other stuff in the engine bay. Don't know how the dudes in the US and Germany manage to get turbos and superchargers in there as well. Might have to try it out one day.

Yeah I know. Sorry I didn't mean to be insulting, you just never know the knowledge/expertise of the people your talking too, so I try to cater to everyone. I edited the the post about the bulbs too by the way.
    Cheers

How long have u had the R32 for? Judging by the pics it doesn't look like it's done too many k's (unlike my mk4 wich wears it's battle scars with pride!)?

I picked it up at the beginning of September last year. I'm the second owner, it was a lease car for a company GM originally so it was used mainly for business use. It's got nearly 81000kms on the clock, but according to the owner at least half was highway driving. The kms are probably close to the highest of any of the R32s in Australia.

The interior is pretty immaculate aside from where the previous owners child put the ambi-pur in upside down and the paint bubbled and peeled just below the air vent. I've touched it up as best I can but it's not that great. I keep it hidden mostly by a non-leakable air freshener.

The exterior has a few scratches around the place (fuel filler cap for starters???). The rear hatch lip has a few on it and one decent one that has appeared recently that I'm not happy about (I don't know where it came from either). The front lip has lots of stone chips on it and there's a few pin dents around the place too. Plus as I said earlier all the wheels are curbed and the original owner didn't clean them often enough so they've got some pitting on them.

Overall it's in pretty good nick but it's nowhere near perfect up close. But because of all this I did pick it up for a pretty good price (don't ask coz I'm not going to tell).

5-6 months back there was an R32 for sale on drive.com.au with 155k on the clock! They wanted $35k for it, so your mileage is ok

You have really scraped your hands! Looks like it takes a lot of effort to chage these. I think im gonna leave my car as it is, im not planning to take the bumper off or half of the engine bay out for these little things. They will blow out in a couple of months anyway

    Hey Trent,

Nice to see another R32 owner! With the parking lights, I installed the bluevision as well, but they still look yellow compared to the HID's. The only other option is to buy some LED's from here: http://42draftdesigns.com/categories/leds.htm.
They have the whole kits for the Mk4, including parkers and interior lights.
The mods I'd recommend are upgrade the Haldex (I've got the blue) and coilovers.

Here's a pic of my ride

Bloody hell that's a lot of kms. I must admit that looking at those kms and that price I got a damn good deal on the car then.
Now that I've done it and know how, it would really only take less than an hour (probably only half an hour) to change the bulbs. It's just a royal pain because of the tight spaces. As the others have said don't bother pulling the front bumper off. That'll be even more of a hassle.

Yeah I might go the LEDs next time. I just don't want anything that'll blind oncoming traffic though. I must say the interior leds are very tempting though.
Your car looks sweet, I love your wheels they're fantastic.

Hehe, what people want for a car and what they get are two different things ! Lots of overpriced R32's around... I think.
