Quite funny that the site remains there. I wish I had the keyrings, pen and the umbrella that came with the .:R.

lol i'm starting to notice a pattern emerging here. However there's also the problem of my .:R being number 44 not 157 or whatever number yours is. :p

Well the .:R has had her first service in my ownership.
I can report back that JMAC looked after her brilliantly and definitely knows his stuff. It's good to be able to talk to the guy who actually serviced your car. He can also brake it down for you in simple english if you're not that mechanically inclined.

Now once the insurance comes around in a month or so I'll need to look for an insurer who will suit my plans. Will definitely need to do a search and look back through the insurer threads...

    Cheers,
    Trent

They have the whole kits for the Mk4, including parkers and interior lights.

    Hey guys,

Just a quick one about the flapper mod.

Can it be done on a Mk IV Gti?

And if so, is there a post on how to do it?

G'day mate and welcome. Unfortunately not. The GTI has a normal straight through exhaust with no flap or controlled restrictor present to keep the noise down. Also fitting a dual pipe exhaust similar to the R32s also seems to be a difficult exercise due to the rear suspension on the GTI.
    Cheers,
    Trent

So there you have it...the GTI punters will just have to peddle a bit faster to make up for the lack of noise.

You can fix that problem, here's what I did to sort it out.
