    Totaled MKIV GTI

This is what happens when people run red lights. No, it wasn't me who ran the red light. I was knocked unconscious and my legs were pinned under the dash. It took 40 minutes to extract me from the vehicle. I'm lucky the other vehicle didn't 't-bone' my drivers side door. One of the paramedics told me the airbag saved my life.

**** me mate, you're one lucky man! That's insane, glad to hear your ok. Another example of quality VAG engineering saving a life. How long ago was this and how long did it take you to recuperate?
Once again glad to hear you lived through this one.
    Cheers,

Geez mate, what a mess. Good to see you are ok. No serious injuries I hope.
Hopefully your insurance will be "unpainfull" to sort out.

    PS. Where did it happen?

    Take care,

Thanks guys. I'm very lucky indeed. Happened last Thursday the 5th. I'm very thankful for good quality German engineering and airbags. Didn't see the other guy, but was told he pretty much walked away. I, on the other hand, dislocated my left patella, got 4 stitches in my right hand and various bumps and bruises.

WOW. Makes you glad you were driving a german car not a Hyundai huh?

Hope you get lots of money for personal injury and a new car.

Happened in Canberra. Yes, I can't help thinking how much different the outcome could have been if I weren't in a VW. I checked the ANCAP star rating and I think it has a four star rating. I don't expect there to be any issues with insurance.
