    Lightbulb Thinking Bora

New baby is due any day now, the Mrs will takeover the GTI and I'll take the 121.
After seeing the thread about a new Bora owner for $12K I started thinking of getting a 4mo for the Mrs so I can have the Golf back.

So what are the differences over the years ?
Did VW switch to metal window regs at any stage and what year was that ?
Did VW switch to metal water pump impeller at any stage and what year was that ?

    Which years/models got
    ...traction control (esp)
    ...curtain airbags
    ...EBD - brake force distribution
    ...active headrests
    ...auto windscreen washers
    ...auto lights
    ...reverse feature for mirrors
...remote locking - auto window close

    Any info much appreciated.

    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

There was no changeover to metal window regs or metal water pump impellers that I'm aware of.

    I can't talk for the 2.0L or V5, but for the V6 4Motion:

    All years got ECS
    No curtain airbags
    EBD is included I believe.
    No active headrests
Windscreen wipers have an "auto" setting.
    No auto lights
No reverse feature for mirrors (mk5 got this with reversing sensors IIRC).
Remote locking was standard, but auto window close is an additional thing (can do it with KVW100 or program it yourself if you can find good reliable instructions).
    Nothing to see here...

in reference to my 2001 2lt manual
Not that im aware of ...traction control (esp)
Not curtain, but side ones ...curtain airbags
no idea ...EBD - brake force distribution
    no ...active headrests
    no ...auto windscreen washers
    no ...auto lights
    no ...reverse feature for mirrors
yes to remote, but as Manaz said for auto windows ...remote locking - auto window close

    As above....

I think the V6 4mo is the only way to go... but then again I am biased!

That is all I'm interested in. The AWD is the seller for me.
I just want to know which year get different gear etc so I know what to expect when I'm out and about looking.
