    Thieving little

    Hi all

Has anyone else ever experienced the anti theft lug nuts being nicked?

Some absolute c**t has just nicked all 4 off of my car

The human race absolutely fails sometime. Even stock **** still gets nicked

I've seen the other 4 taken and locking bolt left, but just the lock bolt is weird...

Was this an overnight thing ? Where are the nut covers ?
How did they get them off without any damage to the rim. Do you still have the key ?

There is damage to the outside of one of the rims on 3 of the spokes. Caps have been nicked as well. The locking bolts are now only sold as a set of 4 for best part of a ton. Might as well get some half decent ones I guess

Years ago I saw some kids playing with a dozen wheel locknuts. When I asked them how they got them they said they were easier to get off a car than the normal bolts.

Ever since then I don't bother with locknuts.

The security bolts that came with my wheels can be removed with a standard 17mm socket rendering them completely useless.

I spoke this morning with VW spares in my area. There are apparently 9 different tuner bolt variations (only ever seen a couple)

The majority of the issues seem to come from too much of a gap around the nut which enables someone to hit a socket over it and use a breaker bar

I wish they'd come and steal mine.

Someone lost the lock bolt key at some point.

Used to happen to me with a previous car of mine. Always 1 wheel nut went missing. I swear I replaced it about 10 times. I suspect some old school buddies who used to live up the road kept stealing them for ****s and giggles. Used to give me the irits though!

I wouldn't bother much with loch nuts unless you get a good set like Rays lock nuts. The cheap ones that have an internal style key/imprint are both easy to sear and remove. They especially love to sear when they've been on for a few years.

If they have been removed to me would mean they have removed the hard to remove nuts and they will be back to steal your wheels...Im from the uk and this trick has been used many times before..
