Has anyone in Australia ever done a V6 engine swap into a MK4 Golf? Either using a US-spec VR6 motor or a 4motion V6 but just FWD?
I'm just curious, not interested in doing it myself, but if there are any out there I'd love to read more ab out it
Spewin VW Aus didn't offer the VR6, such a nice sounding engine and a good alternative to a GTI.

Whole thread on it here

2 things highlighted in this: cannot put an older engine into a newer car, and doing a swap effectively requires obtaining a front cut including dash, keys, column, looms etc to make it all work.
I believe there's at least one that's floating around. Whilst you can't put the VR6 from the Mk3 into a Mk4 and maintain roadworthiness, it's possible to import a newer 24v VR6 motor from other markets and use that.
Nothing to see here...
plus as far as I know there IS one V6 4 motion Golf in Aus
He's been trying to sell it for yonks
