Thank you for all the help - moving to mk V Jetta forum

I would like to thank everyone on this forum that have been so friendly and helpful with advice about my 01 Bora 4-mo.
Unfortuntely, it was caught in a flash flood on the road in vic and had water damage to the engine. Subsequently, it has been written off.
I have purchased a 2007 Jetta 2.0 TDi manual and probably pick it up by early next week after RWC. Drove a couple of DSG cars but I liked the manual best for some reason.
So I will be moving to the mk v/Jetta forum after next week

Congratulations on the Jetta,I am sure you will love it.Post pics up when you get it.

A lot of people have changed their Boras over for Jettas.

Was your Bora deemed a repairable,or statutory write off ???

water got into air intake. One cylinder very low compression 75, two others lower than the other three. Probably crushed the cam or big end bearing
May not have been processed yet, still waiting for cheque

If you were in Sydney, it would be listed as a stat w/o, since written off after 31 October 2010.
(At least thats what the RTA were saying last year)

    Congrats on the Jetta!
