    T/O bearing clip broken?

Long story short, I was sent a crap throw out bearing with my vr6 clutch kit. I mean the bearing it's self is fine. But the retaining clip that attaches it to the fork is cheap plastic. On top of that they barely even hold onto the fork to begin with. I could literally shake the fork and the bearing would fall off. Anyway, one of the clips has snapped off. Not that it really makes a difference to how it sits on the fork. They barely worked to begin with.

I've done my research. And one group says that it will be fine. The clips are only there for the install (what I originally thought).
But the other group says that it won't be fine because those clips keep the bearing centred in the right spot on the fork so that the face of the bearing can spin. Which makes sense.

Does anyone have a strait answer?

Il be ringing Camden gti on Monday and having a little chat about why he decided to send me an unmachined second hand flywheel. And a ****ty throw out bearing.

I really don't want to have to pull the box off for the third time.

The car is nearly Back together after the clutch change. And I sort of needed it to get to work on Monday.

Any help Would be great, thanks guys.

I haven't seen a bearing without the plastic, is it a Sachs one? What's the old bearing like?

I have fitted plenty of clutches to un-machined flywheels without any dramas. So that wouldn't worry me.

The bearing had the the plastic. But the clips where absolute crap. Very fragile. Ide assume it's a luk bearing. Seeing as it's a luk kit.

The old bearing is beyond stuffed haha.

Yeah I know it will work fine. But he didn't even tell me. I assumed everything would be new.

Well good news is. Car is back together. Drives beautifully.
Maybe the t o bearing will be fine. The only problem I have now is the fuel gauge is fluctuating between empty and quarter tank(how full it actually is).
It happens when I turn. So im a Lil confused, I hadn't touched anything to do with the fuel system. Speedo also isn't working. So Ive forgotten the vss.
