Thread: Sunroof problems

    Sunroof problems

I'm having problems with my sunroof for a few months now, but as it has been winter I have just left it... But with Spring just around the corner I think its time to try and fix it!

Does anybody know how I can possibly fix it?
It wont open, and when it tries to it makes a loud creaking noise and opens a bit and then as a safety measure goes back and closes its self.

I think it may have come off its rollers perhaps...

    Any ideas...

have you flipped the emergency cover down and tried manually winding it with eh supplied allen key shapped winding tool?

wind it back to see where the resistance happens and you may be abel to fish out what ever is blocking it

By emergency cover you mean the inside of the sunroof that is made of the same material as the interior?
(The bit not made of see thru glass/plastic!)

No, Not the piece that slides back to reveal the glass of the sunroof, the piece that is between the lights on the front of the roof, and the sunroof itself. There is a small square shaped panel that when you pry your fingers under the front edge, should pop off. On the inside of this cover there should be this 's' shaped allen key tool that Hitman is talking about. Take that out and place it in the centre of the circular part of the sunroof motor (the motor is also under this flap also) if it does open manually, then the tracks should be fine, maybe the gear in the motor has had it, which means that motor needs replacing. However, maybe it just needed to be moved manually as it may have been stuck, so open it manually and close it, then try the knob again...

    Goodluck
