Volkswagen MK4 Instrument Cluster Stage 2 ECU KEY Combo Jetta GTI Golf GLI | eBay
Will this ecu work in my car?
Mk4 gti 2002. I have the supporting mods for a stage 2 tune.
Cheers Jason
http://www.custom-code.co.uk/ You'll have to do some reading on the scene mate and catch up I wouldn't offer you a customised tune, as the cost wouldn't be in line with the extra power.
There's nothing wrong with the file I already have.
The price is $849.

how much power can you get out of a stage 2 tune with full 3inch exhaust system?

That's not much better than a stage 1 tune. What's the difference between them? Could you but the boost up to 20psi on the ko3 turbo? Is there a difference in fuel economy between the tunes?
Would I have to send you my ecu?
The reason there's not much power, is the size of the turbo. It can't be run harder, just makes heat. If you want more, you need a bigger turbo.
Phase 2 makes more mid-range due to the better flowing exhaust.
You can make it produce 20 PSI if you want to be changing it out often.
The economy will be much improved over stock on either tune. You'll not see that around town really though. If you were driving out in the sticks, you'd see a good improvement in the distance you got on a tank.
I recently got stage 2 from Gav and highly recommend it, the difference is slight between 1 and 2 but it is noticeable.
I also upgraded to a K03s turbo which is only slightly bigger but did help a bit.
the thing you have to ask yourself when choosing stage tunes is basically..
stage 1 is for a standard car which you want a bit more power.
stage 2 is when you have the usual bolt ons (exhaust/down pipe and maybe a pod filter etc(not needed but sound cool )
stage 3 is when it gets serious, you need many alternate components(turbo, manifold, fuel system, piping changes, clutch, some engine internals like con rods may need upgrading etc) which is a BIG jump in power but also cost.
stage 2 is plenty of a daily street car where you don't want to be too concerned about breaking components
I am currently getting 7.1l/100km in my mk4 GTI stage 2 with k03s and 3" down pipe and pod filter.
