Turbo inlet Pipe. The std one tends to get sucked in when used on chipped cars, the turbo creates a fair depression. The after market TIPS are much more resistant to the problem.

You would be looking at something from Garret to do that power.

what you have done on your previous cars....forget it..this is different.. my advice for you is,when you are ready.come to our gtg or cruise and see the cars in action.
there will be heaps of people whispering in your ear as there is alot money to be made from "chips" and certain mods, but just look at DUB 20V's black golf running a haltech(and previous red gti),as mentioned before.thats where I would be starting..at least as your mods progress ,so does your level of tune.

when my car is back ill be happy to take you for a spin and im sure 99gti and dub20v will also!!!

ahhh,im only in kingsford!! come past some time!!

Entrance stage left and only slightly drunk tonight

There are x amount of ways of achieving x kw's from your car.

My car has been done the 'bolt on' way. Everything I have done to date has been an off the shelf mod with little to no down time. This has been an important factor for me because without transport I'd be up Duff creek without a paddle. I'm very happy with my car although it's yet to stack up against others at a dyno day - something I'm not in a great rush to do. If my scenario had been different so would my outcome.

For example Adrians current golf. Words can not describe this car and it's a credit to adrian and also the previous owner. Adrian also shared the same vision as the previous owner and they were happy to have the car off the road for a significant more time than mine was to have the haltech ECU tuned. This car has an instance stauts on road that oozes attitude and demeanor. Plain and simply - this is the most outrageous front wheel drive I have been in. One hit of the 'FUN' button and this thing takes off quicker than a chewowa on heat. As I have said - Adirans car with it's larger Garret GT28R turbo is off it's nut! and is more a piece of art than it is a car. Now Adrian has taken hold of it he has started to apply the finishing touches the car deserves - as costly as they may be. It is currently making it's transition from roar warrior to road ruler. It gives excitment to those who only understand a little about this scene.

Ps. I'm only in Pennat Hills and more than happy to take you for a quick squirt if you want. Just drop me a PM.

thanks neil, yeah if you want to get a haltech you will only need a haltech interceptor not a full computer like mine, the interceptor does the same things as a chip, but you can tune it to YOUR car, it only took 1 day to have mine fitted and tuned on my old gti

I still don't understand why people would complicate their lifes to that extent and buy a Haltech instead of doing a direct chip like Giac. Doesn't that work as good as on the Audi's ( it should be the same engine ? ) 1.8T ?

My Audi is quicker off the mark now than a stock WRX ( provided it is not wet, hey) and any driver of Skyline GTS or Silvia challenging me at the lights will most likely end up in regret...

GIAC is the song you want to hear, trust me . They are doing maps for these cars for years and years and they are fast and reliable. Plus it uses less fuel in normal conditions... My economy improved by 1l/100km after doing the map in city driving, almost 2 on highway driving...

    Enough said
    2001 Audi A3 1.8T manual | Giac stage 1 | 3" custom down pipe |TT brake carriers and disks | Eibach pro kit | S3 wheels |APR R1 valve
2002 BMW M3 6sp manual | Macht Schnell stage 1 intake | Rogue Engineering power pulleys | CSL OEM Wheels | Rear LED lights

That being said mate, I also own a VR6 with a GIAC custom chip in it, however saying this if you are going to go for big power like Adrian has with the GT28 I'd be going stand alone cause if you think about it its quite complex.

Sure you can go GIAC, APR, Oettinger, REVO, NEUSPEED to name a few that do it for the mk4s they are good for the K03 turbos and also the K04.

However if I wanted to go for turbo or even big NA power in my VR I would go stand alone for the many things that can be done, and besides on a stock ECU in the VR you can only boost 6-8psi before overloading the ECU and thats not much.
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
