    Servicing an 01 bora

hey guys, just want to know how much to expect for a major service for a bora 4mo ? bought it back in july last year, but it hasn't been serviced since then.

i was quoted 500 by my regular guys, and that sounds about right, just thought i'd ask around ..

I would have thought that 500 is very cheap for a major service.
Are you talking water pump, timing belt, tensioner etc?

the vr6 has a timing chain that VW claim is a "lifetime part" so it wouldn't be within the scope of a service. Changing the waterpump is a gearbox out job so I doubt that would be covered by a major service either.

    $500 seems reasonable to me
