yes vag com can turn it off
Hi Guys,
I bought my Bora 2nd hand last year and I have had it "serviced" by the dealer (Mazda) since, but this week I started getting the "Service Now" alert bleeting at me whenever I start it.
Is there a quick way using VAGCOM to turn off the service interval alert or should I just call round to a VW service centre and plead them to do it?
Cheers,
Dave

yes vag com can turn it off
mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha
There is also a sequence you can do that is detailed in the owners manual (page 13 in mine "Controls and Equipment: 6 - Service Interval Display").
VAG-COM proceedures:

Or you can manually clear the code by a combination of holding the reset button and turning the key... Which is the only way to clear it on my Mk3. I don't recall the exact sequence, but you have VAG COM...

On the instrument cluster you will have a knob near the bottom left of the Speedo and a knob near the bottom right of the Tacho.
1. Press and hold in the knob at the bottom left of the speedo.
2. Switch the ignition on and release the knob.
3. Turn the knob at the lower right side of the tacho towards the right.
4. Switch off the ignition.
That should get you reset.
Cheers,
Snowy

Could it possibly need to be serviced again??
No service intervals are meant to be 10000kms or 15000kms. Depending on what was coded into ECU from factory. So basically it means that it would come telling you it requires the service. If it has been done out of the service interval. then if it had not been reset it would come up and tell you about the service interval warning when the distance had been reached.
Hope this helps clear it up.

Quick question. Why are you getting the car serviced at Mazda and not at VW or a VW specialist mechanic? Do Mazda have a VAG-COM or an elsa-win system where it lists or the specifics for servicing and maintaining the vehicle correctly?
My guess is for warranty reasons?
