    Serpentine/Timing Belt

    Hi All

    Just watching a maintenance for VW.
    It has procedures to replace the Serpentine belt. Is this the same as a "timing belt"?

    No mate serpentine belt is a ribbed belt running you auxilleries and timing belt is a toothed belt which is a syncronous belt cant get it wrong and is 10 times the serpentine procedure 2.5-3 hr job on a GTI 10 mins for a serpentine belt
