    serious BOV Question.

    Guys this is really not a newbie question. So don’t give me the use the search button replies an what not!!n:
    But does the gti “flutter” in other words can it sound like my cuz’z fully Vl turbo.

    The reason why I ask this is because I have just fitted a BOV to my car and noticed now instead of getting a quick whoosh, It now sound like a vl. Is this normal or have I blocked something by accident?


    also i have fitted a new CAI - pod in the front bar - 3" piping. Pictures soon

    i think it flutters at low boost. or maybe u got it wrong way around..

    but wen i blocked everything off it fluttered all d time.. loved it but the car didnt

    yeh it is fluttering all the time...so then that answers my question. have to change the BOV.

    when you block everything off what does is do to your car?

    wen i block both ends it sounds hectik! car runs rich and blows smoke from d exhuast wen i hit it. and car feels slower

    Ah dude - Flutter is BAD
    BADBADBADBADBADBADBADBADBADB.

    The flutter is air runnning the wrong way over the blades of the turbo - This slowly damages the turbo, creating shaft play and ruining the blades.. and yeah as above - car will run like **** with the wrong or badly setup BOV.


    Although - You might be hearing your BOV venting and reverbarating around in your piping which is fine however. If you haven't changed your BOV/piping after the MAF id say this is probably the cause and isn't a problem. So go be fooooly sick.

    Could it be perhaps that the BOV is installed in reverse? WHen I was researching DV's and BOV's I read that the Golf's actually run in reverse to most cars and that the BOV (at least the GFB one I was looking at at the time) had to be installed in reverse to it's normal installation instruction.

    I ended up buying an APR R1 and am really happy with it.

    x2 for apr r1 i had the gfb stelath fx they gahy
    mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha
