Running no vacumme line to top of DV

    Hi

So the vacuum line that runs into the top of the stock DV on my 2003 GTI just crumbled to bits (do they normally go rigid?)

Is it safe to drive a few k's to get a replacement ? what are the effects of not having this top line connected?

    Thanks in advance

You should be right. Worst outcome might be s coupe of code for a boost leak of incorrect boost boost regulation.
What it will end up doing is dumping boost based on atmo pressure in lieu of commanded boost press.
    The car may feel
A little sluggish, but unless your going up flog it or drive it a considerable distance you should be ok.
While your getting more tube get some extra to replace other hoses. If ones gone others won't be far offRunning no vacumme line to top of DV

It'll be ok, pretty sure the ECU won't notice anything. Plenty of MK4 GTI driving around like that I am sure. Change any cloth covered pipes you see under the bonnet, save yourself some future pain.

As always chaps, thanks for the help

It looks like 3mm ID. If i grab a few sections what sizes cover all the lines? 3-5-7?

FYI Gav, you mentioned a while back when i asked a unrelated question about a coolant flush, and mentioned that it was linked to engine rpm and to give it some beans.......haha, gave it a bit to much beanage and had a glorious green fountain of hulk piss
