    Now in with the New
    Attachment 7626
    Urethane bushes.
    Attachment 7627
    Refreshed CV's
    Attachment 7628
    new springs and shocks.
    Attachment 7629
    and the rear.
I bought myself a cool little steam cleaner
so will probably spend most of the
weekend under the car cleaning up all the struts and braces.
    Attachment 7630
and the end result, 30mm drop
and a comfortable ride, feels wonderfully balanced
and has a pretty cool stance.

    Chip tomorrow,SaWeet!!!
Gotta say I'm pretty excited, everyone sounds happier with their beasts after the tune.
Looking forward to the company of a few extra horses and the good torque gains.

Exhaust goes in too this week. Cat back sport system also from BSR.

    Question to all dubbers?!
Was thinking about going 2•5/3" down pipe but is it only worth it if I'm upping the ante with a bigger turbo?

Go for a 3 inch downpipe. Even without a turbo upgrade the car will rev out a little better

I bought a cheap stainless steel one from eBay America

Go 3 inch, lots of off the shelf options. 42DD from Carformance, SPM from dubaddiction etc. Beauty of the mk4 GTI in Australia, no messing with Phase 2 software if you don't want to, no cat efficiency codes to worry about.

Small gains to be had by getting a tune, to make use of the earlier spool, but not really game changers.

The K03 does run out of puff much earlier than the K03s and K04 but if you intend keeping the car a couple of years, then you can add the turbo later.

+30hp for the K03s and +60hp for the K04 over a tuned standard car. Even more with a hybrid, but that takes engine work and get expensive really fast.

You've been a great help, I thought as much with the bigger turbos going hand in hand with engine work.
I'm thinking in a couple years I might go down that track!

It's what forums are about and there's no need to re-invent the wheel. MK4 Golfs have been around for donkeys years and I haven't seen any ground breaking improvements released in ages.

    Enjoy the car!

WOW!!! Just drove to work with the new Chip....... It is a completely different car... It's a little monster!!!!

Guys gotta throw a shout out to Cameron @ BSR the chip is brilliant and for under $800 installed I can't argue, service was top notch and the car feels amazing!

So did the exhaust on Sunday with the help of mates workshop, made the job a lot easier that's for certain!
Got a bit more grunt and it sounds amazing. I'll pop a video up shortly but here's some pics for now.
