so is the haldex filter connected to the differential side which uses gear oil ,or the haldex clutch side of the diff ?

On the Haldex coupling housing, about the right side driveshaft.

.very tight spot indeed....

There's a special wrench you can buy, or you can remove the brace in front of it, and remove the two front cradle bolts to lower the whole lot into a more accessible position.

thanks ..ill try the way of doing it without purchasing another special tool that i will only ever use once..

If I did them week in, week out, I'd have bought the tool. Just not worth it otherwise.
