    Rev Tachometer Stopped Working

    Hi All,

As the title states, my rev tacho stopped working today.

Not sure when this happened, I think it was working fine yesterday.

Any thoughts on what to try or look for?

    Cheers

Check your fuses then get a VagCom scan

The rev tacho would not have a fuse all on its own would it?

I would have thought the whole cluster would be on one fuse.

    I'll check 'em all anyway.

I tried vagcom, said no error. Funny thing was that I could not do the output test..... like make the gauges move with the output test function.

I had my speedo stop working... that was down to a failed Vehicle speed sensor on the gearbox... but speedo sounds like engine speed sensor ?!... Is it still running ok? Could just be the cluster.

Cars running fine, just the tacho stopped working.

    What else could it be?

I know my battery isn't the greatest but it wouldn't cause this to happen would it?

Hi check the wiring loom under the battery, where the loom runs tight into trunking, have seen many looms/wires snapped in that area causing similar faults to yours...
