Replacement clutch: Dual Mass Flywheel vs. Single (Solid) Mass Flywheel?

Hi everyone! I need some advice from anyone who knows a little about clutches. I have a 2004 model mk4 1.8L manual Golf GTI, and the clutch just blew on it today. The car currently has a dual mass flywheel (which has just burnt out), and my mechanic has given me the choice between replacing it with another DMF, or converting to a single mass flywheel (aka solid mass flywheel). The SMF costs about $600 less than the DMF. Can anyone explain to me the advantages and/or disadvantages of the SMF vs. the DMF?

I went with a Sachs smf and organic clutch kit, absolutely love it, I can just make out the "rattle" when idle in the car and I mean just, put the air con fan on lowest setting can't hear it in other words it's not annoying at all. The engine spools faster and clutch engagement it's smooth, there it's allot less lash also compared to the dmf, I recommend it
