removing roof rack sitckers without damaging the paint

Something like Goo-Off should do it -you might need to soak the sticker for a while to get the adhesive to lift.

These stickers are an absolute pain in the arse. I've had a few goes at mine and they're half still on there. It's been a couple of months since i really had a good go at them last, so i might give it a go again soon...

I found i had better results when i soaked the sticker with soapy water by putting some glad wrap over the top to keep the moisture in, and then hitting it with the goo remover.

yeah its a massive pain because i dont really have time to soak the stickers and even so its not even sticky any more, its pretty much merged with my roof! like the plastic layer is flaking off in like squares but still leaves that ugly sticker mark that wont go away!

I haven't found anything that works well on these stickers. I'm considering going to a panel shop and asking them since i've been putting off getting a quote on some touch ups for some time anyway.

no luck! those stickers are stubborn! yeah let me know how that goes! i really want to get rid of them but nothing seems to work, that you can do it yourself.

I suggest using a heat gun to heat up the adhesive on the back of the sticker, you don't need to get it too hot, just hot enough so that your finger feels warm when to touch the sticker (with the heat gun off the area your feeling).
I find a small scraper or steel spatula used gently on a corner of the sticker to start with helps - what you're trying to do is just lift the sticker AND the glue, once you have enough sticker to grasp with two fingers apply more heat and pull up at 90 degrees and keep a steady pulling pressure on the sticker. Work slowly as you may find a spot or two were the glue sticks, if the happens just use you're scraper gently again to lift up the edge of the glue and start again.

Once you get the idea it's not difficult- just remember to keep the heat on the glue to soften it, this is probably the only "Trick" to the operation. Once you get the sticker off then you can clean up the residue with Goo Off or something similar.

There's an automotive solvent that my mate at the sticker shop uses that's unreal. It will remove any glue i've come across without damaging paint or anything. I'll get the name of it. I used to have a tin at the workshop but i ran out a while ago...
