    Recall notices for MK4

    Hi vdubbers,
it was brought to my attention a recall for the mk4 by a new member GTEve.I was thinking that maybe we should have a list of all recalls for our model??? good idea or should I delete this thread?

Please dont bring US recalls into this forum . Its gonna confuse everyone as to what actual is a re-call in Australia .

As far as I know there were only 2 , Brake booster hose on the early ones 98-99 and ABS ECU update on 01 and 02 models .

not that I would let a vw workshop touch my car.nice to know all the recalls whether its in the us or s.africa.might be relevent in tracking down a problem as with GTEve.

Well the US also had recalls with coilpacks and hazard light switches which is also a known problem here . I think in the US if there is 100 of the same car with the same fault it becomes a re-call . Its pretty rare to see re-calls here . Look at MK4 window regs !!!

These can be added to the DIY and FAQ thread under known issues or a buyers guide. I am not wanting a 1000 stickies on the forum.
