Rear brake solid to vented qns

Can i go straight from solid rotors to vented? (staying at the same diameter)

The vented rotors will be around 22mm thick, while the standard rotors are 9mm. Will this mess with the calipers and or pads grasp on the discs??

Here is a rough diagram of how i imagine it:

red bit is the caliper, blue bit is the pad, and black part is the disc.

Just in case anyone else was wondering:
I worked it out... I'm sticking with solid rotors, as they are lighter weight, and will therefore save on rotational mass. I don't notice brake fade in day to day driving anyway

you can get your standard rotors slotted... just take it to a local performance mechanic and they'll either do it or point you in the right direction to someone who does.

a place around the corner from me does it (fully engineered) and works out a lot cheaper than a new set of slotted rotors.

I got the the stock R rotors slotted when I put the new ones on my car. Took it to a local mechanic who just so happens to have an machinist next door with a very nice CNC machine. Gave them the general design that I wanted and they did a very nice job.
Have a look over in my thread for some before and after photos.
    Cheers,
