Hi All,

Quick question...

Does anyone with a "Genuine/Factory" windscreen have the display panel in the lower left passenger side that displays the VIN ID Details.

I thought that this was only on cars in the US, bout VW have advised that mine should have a window that displays the VIN ID Details also.

Mine doesn't, but my screen has been replaced.

Any help would be great.

Hi,
I believe mine has an original windscreen in it.
There is no "window" to view any numbers. Mine has a small clear plastic "window" in the panel under the windscreen (top of the wirewall)that shows the VIN number through but it is not part of the windscreen.

i just only replaced my windscreen today, my old glass did have the widow in the glass for the vin, but i have not looked at the new glass to close yet. ill let you know when you i get home tonight.

Thanks for that. I am aware of the position of the VIN on the firewall.
I am more concerned in relation to the "window" in the glass that displays the VIN ID Details through the windscreen.

Any others out there?

yes i just checked and also ym new widow DOES have the little window for the chassis no.
