RE: Door Hinges

Hi all,

Does anyone have a How To Guide to re-lubing / tightening door hinges on a MK4 Golf?
Not sure what is the best grease for the door hinges or should I just use a Silicon Spray?
As for tightening them, when you open and it moves through it's pivot points it sounds like it needs to be retightened. My Vectra has "Check Straps" that get tightened, however the Golf just has the physical hinge.

Any ideas?

I'd say one of the mechanics that are on here are best suited to answer this. I never adjusted/checked anything in the door area on mine...

I just used some silicon spray and white grease, all good now...

I havent had this problem,,,just had a prob with the clips breaking that hold the window.and recently the door hinge started making noise,little grease and much better!
