    Radiator cooling fan issues

    Hi all,
I have a 2003 bora v6 4 motion which I bought recently, and I have just realized that I have the cooling fan issues.
large one is only running in high speed, and small one is not running at all.
    my questions are please
    1. Am I right that you need to take off the front clip in a v6 to get the fans out?
    2. At $1000 for fans I am contemplating if I can fix the small fan for high speed run doing an external resistor or fan speed controller modification to the car. Has anyone on here done one of these conversions, and if so which one did they do?

    Any advice ggreatly appreciated

Not sure on the V(R)6s, but with the 4 cylinder ones, you can get the fans out the top by unbolting them from the shroud on the radiator.

You might be able to get them out the bottom.

dont replace the fans.. you need to wire in some external resisters to fix the low speeds.

Might be the brushes in the motor? Do a proper check.

    Thanks guys,
pulled the fan assembly out tonight ( could just get out through bottom, but had to pull off bottom radiator hose)
Small fan is fried and melted inside, so need to get at least one new fan!
has anyone tried the non genuine fans through ecs tuning in the US?
or am I best to stick to genuine?
