I paid about 70 bucks for a bottle of almost 4l... not very cheap I am afraid.

You need about 2 L so if you can get 2 x 1L do that. They only had the big ones when I bought mine.

DON'T put MTL in the diff... They have different oil for the diff:
    http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp the 75W90..

I found the oil finder on the AU site, check what is appropriate for your car:

That would be awesome, I would pay you of course. I'm down Knox/Ferntree Gully way.

Is the MTL stuff for a manual or auto box? It sounds like a dumb question but in 5-speed Ford boxes (and a number of others) the official recommendation was to use ATF which is an auto trans fluid plus an additive.

PS: I paid about 70 bucks for Castrol Transmax Z for the manual in my Falcon. Made a HUGE difference.

I am sorry, I just checked and I have MT90 left from the Audi not MTL from the Golf, I bought 2 quarts only of MTL.

Checkout Oilworld in Moorabbin, they stock the MTL.

Guys I am going to buy some Redline gearbox fluid this weekend but need to know the exact specs for a MKIV GTI. I understand it is Redline MTL but are there different viscosities? 75W90 okay? Also, will it take more than 1.9l of fluid?
