    R32 Flatspot in Power

Is it just me or is there a noticeable flatspot somewhere between 2600 and 2900rpm? I notice it mainly in 2nd when accelerating in every day type driving (not giving it a bootful). Is this something others have experienced? Anyone got a stock dyno sheet?

I have heard of that but mine feels great. A reflash would fix that

It is a known issue with the stock code in the R32.

There have been literally hundreds of threads on the matter since the cars release over on VWVortex in the R32 forum, there is a brilliant FAQ there that I would highly recommend you reading, it will answer 99.999% of the questions you will have about the car and those that aren't answered in the FAQ will be answered else where in that forum or I'm sure one of us who have had the car from new would have the answer to and be able to help.

As mentioned a reflash from one of the reputable dealers will fix the issue for you.

    Cheers Al

it is the same on the v6 4mo between 2500 and 2900rpm if you boot the throtle in second or third. but once peak torque arrives at 3200rpm, you are flying!!! i join the other guys, just reflash it and you'll be fine

Just got mine for 2 weeks old, although both previous owner have been sending it back to the dealers for service.

It still have that blackspot rpm issues. Dealers are not really doing much work on the cars.

I am heading to Volkspower soon...

    Common for the R32.

Reflashing to a GIAC s/w fixed the issue up for me.

    Something to consider?

Wher'd you get that done Tom? Any other benefits or just fixed up the flatspot? What's the $$ damage roughly on it as well? Was keen to not spend any $$$ on this car beyond stock but could consider it. Just wary of catching the modification bug again which i have had BADLY before.

Possibly of interest to those considering a re-flash.
