    Common for the R32.

Reflashing to a GIAC s/w fixed the issue up for me.

    Something to consider?

Wher'd you get that done Tom? Any other benefits or just fixed up the flatspot? What's the $$ damage roughly on it as well? Was keen to not spend any $$$ on this car beyond stock but could consider it. Just wary of catching the modification bug again which i have had BADLY before.

You don't exactly need the chip. From what I have heard you can fix the flat spot with a software update 3026 or something along those lines, have a look on vortex or Uk-mkiv's or maybe do a search on here.

Pretty sure I've heard of people going to VWA service departments asking about this and getting blank stares and a shrug of the shoulders.

Ok, maybe you need to find someone who works at a dealer that can actually verify this for the R32 so that you have some paperwork to show... not every person in any field is going to know everything

So after chatting to you Tom i spoke to the guy i bought my car off and apparently it has been GIAC chipped as you suggested.

So is the flatspot in my driving style then?

I know nothing about the chipping process. Is there a chance it can be reset and not be 'working' now?

The only way for that to happen would be for it to have been flashed over.
    They can't unchip themselves.
