yeah, im thinking the same thing. Im getting a Neuspeed CAI, arriving in a few days, should be nice. the filter will be all the way in the fender, so the sensor is safe

All very interesting reading. Had same issue many moons ago on A3 turbo caused by oiled filter. Also know after chatting to experts at Bosch during a training class that air sensors can't be cleaned without causing further damage and you'll just end up with more issues. These sensors are so sensitive its not funny and why i no longer run aftermarket filters. And to prove that point was running a K&N on a WRX which had the AFM let go. Car ran better just before the engine detonated due to leaning out!

R32 is here and sounds awesome, loving the throttle blips on the down changes.
The MAF on my 4Mo failed at around 80,000k's with the standard air filter. It is quite a common problem. So much so that in the UK the dealers sell them on an exchange basis. Pi%/es me off that VW Australia still try to charge top dollar.

2006 Polo GTI - Enhanced by some of Gav's magic - Absolutely loving it
Yeah im having the exact same problem with my 2.8 Bora. Ive only had the pod filter on for 2 weeks. The lights come on and off and when putting my original air filter in I have no problems. Werid! Where does someone recommend getting a CAI kit from? I got a universal one from Auto one and was told it will fit but it didnt of course. Does anyone know if this helps the problem with the oil stuffing the sensors?
