Thanks for the info but there is no Auto Barn in WA
I sent an email to Bendix and they told me because my car is a special model they don't make brake pads for it. Honestly, i think that $690 for a set of brake pads (like Treza said in an earlier post) is way too much. I dont take my car to a track and lately i've been driving it gently (im getting old i guess ). I'd be happy with something decent and not too expensive.

I organised the Pads through Guy_H. EBC are a right pain in the ass to deal with and I never got a response from them directly. The price is a bit much but it is pretty expensive to go the OEM route anyway, a set of fronts was over $300 last time I was quoted for them. Don't forget that the price I said was for all four corners.
Like when I was looking at replacement rotors, because the R is different not many people make an aftermarket part for them (especially here in Australia).

Balc, you could also try James at Audvolks, he supplied my EBC stuff as well as my rotors.

Someone from Ferodo is a member of another forum I frequent, I'm asking him if he has anything suitable for my R32 brake conversion, I'll let you know what he comes back with.

i got brake pads today. I got mintex for all 4 wheels and they were $197!!! i know that they are not a performance pad, but i don't take my car to a race track and i dont drive hard in general so these will be enough. Apperently a 750il and some AMG model have the same brakes I got them from Imparts in osborne park. They were very helpful and they have most parts for european cars

OK, I got the answer from the guy I know on another forum who works with/for Ferodo.

"The pad shape is FDB1765. This is a slightly better than OE material that will more than do the job.

We are currently developing a DS-Performance material that will be available fairly soon (fingers crossed). The part number has already been allocated as FDS1765.

The FDB1765's have a retail of $435. The FDS1765's have a projected cost of about 550-650 retail depending on the exchange rate at the time of order."

I asked about the wear indicators as well, and this was his response:

"Yep, they are an electronic wear indicator. Pretty much 90% of cars out of Europe now run them.

Our backing plates will either have the sensor built into them or they will have the holder on them to put the factory one on to. 90% of the time you reuse the factory sensor as they basically never wear out. They dont need any contact with the rotor to work so they never wear out."

I hope that's useful (it will be useful to me!).
