Nathan, most exhausts that I have comes across are a pretty secure fit before you clamp them up.
You should be able to seal it with some exhaust paste.
I reckon the note will change over time as the silencers soot up a bit.

I received my Milltek exhaust for my Bora 4motion today and tried fitting it tonight. I got it on, but there is an adapter pipe that links the stock cat-pipe to the Milltek centre pipe and I think it is slightly too small on one end. I had to tighten the clamp really hard to get it to grab, but it seems its not tight enough as there is a small leak. Any ideas of how to fix this???
Also, I expected the system to have a nice deep growl as described by many people, but it sounds almost the same as the stock exhaust (except for a very slight burble and a slight induction-type sound due to the leak). Would this be due to the leak? Should it sound deeper/louder without the leak?
There is a small but noticeable improvement in throttle response and acceleration, I just wish it sounded like I expected!
Any help/advice/ideas will be much appreciated!

Its not a secure fit at all without the clamp. I reckon I need a different adapter - one that is slightly larger. I don't know of exhaust paste, can I get it from Supercheap/Autobarn etc? I assume it is some kind of joint sealant. Does it bond the parts together?
I know the note will change over time as carbon builds up, but I would have thought a new system would be louder, not quieter. Anyway, will try some exhaust paste tomorrow and see if it helps.
If you paid good dollars for this then everything should be spot on. I reckon there is a misalignment somewhere. Can you seek advice from the supplier?
I have been considering this same mod, but have baulked at the pricing quoted by the Australian distributor.
I imported it myself from a supplier in the UK, and had a horrible time trying to deal with them. I don't really want to go to them for help as it took a rather heated exchange to get the purchase finalised. They probably wouldn't help me anyway (they never responded to emails during the time I was ordering, asking questions etc).
The Aussie distributor is a ripoff merchant. I was quoted around double the price that I paid buying from a UK supplier.
I'd imagine, if exhaust paste doesn't work, that a local exhaust fabricator could knock up a new adapter for me. It is a bit annoying though that such a "high-end system" doesn't fit perfectly straight out of the box.
Hey Dude..
millteks can be very hopeless for fitment in some cases.. but most of the time they are OK
the note will deepen over time as the piping is heated and cooled a few times..
one thing i recomment that will make the car sound good is delete the centre resonator.. it will infact reduce any boomy drone inside and make it sound raspier and louder outside..
An exhaust shop should be able to expand the joint that is too small or alter the link pipe.
Gavin.
That sucks Suk, You might want to advertise this problem on a forum they are familiar with if you catch my drift.Any way, I would go to an exhaust shop and they could probably help. And did you get resonated or unres ? Maybe you can remove the resonater if you still arent happy after all is setujp right ! Yeh the local importer i believe is a dud and took a lot of moneys from the ozaudi guys. In short dont trust him. I cant remember the name of the company, but i was going to approach qsz for a supersprint exhaust. Has anyone dealt with them ?
You'll probably find that in the instructions it will say "to be fitted by an exhaust shop " or something similar !
