    Power steering fluid

So since i've owned my car (bora 4motion) the steering has always made a bit of a whining noise. Its really faint but gets louder the closer you get to full lock. I just checked my power steering fluid and its pretty low, i was wondering what power steering fluid i could use? Can i just use any brand or do I have to use a special one from vw/audi?

Whatever it says in the manual Power steer pumps make more noise on full lock as they require max pressure to get there Dont hold it there longer than necessary.

Could also be belt slippage causing the noise for the same reason Old Falcons were famous for squealing power steer belts

Power steering fluid needs to be full-synthetic G004000-spec.

Tooley's at Hornsby/Waitara would have it on the shelf. 1L bottle wouldn't cost much.

in regards to the first two post thanks for the help!

One more question, is it as simple as just topping the fluid up or will i have to fully change it, so drain then put the new stuff in.

    thanks
