    Power mirror-diagnosis

    Hi guys,
The power mirrors in my Mk 4 have never worked. I was hoping it was just the switch and had that replaced, but no joy. The switch itself does not light up, leading me to believe it isn't getting power.

Electricity is not my friend, so if anyone has an idea of where the fault could lie, I would be most appreciative!

Like all electrical things you need to check fuses first.
You know where they are, right ?

I do, but there isn't a fuse for the mirrors alone. All other electrical devices work just fine.

    Mirrors

    Hi,

If the door trims have been taken off at some point to fix window regulators, perhaps the connector that connects the the mirrors to the rest of the door electrics hasn't been plugged in properly.....just a thought

Yep, I've unplugged and replugged all the connections. Tomorrow I'll check if there is power at the plugs. VW said to check the wiring at the door hinge area, and that seems ok too. Bit of a weird one.
