Did you check the MAF and O2 sensor readings with VAGCOM? You'll want to do a live recording as you drive around for a bit. Both are common issues with Mk4 performance/economy on older cars.
I have a 2004 v6 4motion bora. It has 107k on clock and I have recently had the car serviced replacing all the coilpacks and an injector clean. My problem is that car is displaying some weird behaviour.
Many times if I use full throttle it feels like some rips the handbrake on. The motor revs cleanly but slowly. On partial throttle, more power no issue. I have had it on the computer via a VAGCOM and nothing.
Wondering whether anyone has experienced the same or has any suggestions?

Nothing to see here...
Thanks for the advice, has anyone had success with using the Android Application "Torque" with a bluetooth OBDII connector? I was hoping this prove to be a good live monitor for these problems.
Saw that app on the Market today, haven't tried it myself though it does claim to work with VWs.
The trick with it would be identifying what each of the reported parameters actually relates to - VAG-COM recognises which readings relate to which stats.,

Might give it a try. When I get the adapter I will let you know how it goes. It is a lot easier than driving around with a laptop in the car!
Turn off ESP button and report back.
Just sounds like you now have enough power back after your "refreshen up" to have the ASR/ESP trying to stop wheelspin with full throttle.
PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches
No joy with the ESP, no difference whatsoever! Just listening again today and I am sure there is a misfire under load, and only under load. Checked under the hood and noticed one of the electrical connectors to one of the coils is perished. Wonder if that could be earthing causing the problem? Where can you get one of these from, spoke to my mechanic and he said the only way is to buy a full loom at an insane price. Any ideas anyone?????
check if your cam hall sensors are tightened up properly.

Nimbus252, I had a very similar problem when my 2002 4Motion was cold. The MAF was replaced without success. I took it to my mechanic (for those in Brisbane, German Autos in Geebung) and he was able to determine that the car had been fitted with the wrong type of spark plug. The car ran Ok before, with the only problem being when it was cold. At that time it was displaying the same symptoms as your vehicle. This was the first service since buying the car last year. It is running like a dream now. I am surprised just how much bite this thing actually has.
So in my case it was ill fitting spark plugs!
