servicing the haldex.
150000 without a change would be bad. As far as I look at things, if they invented a service schedule, it would be for a reason.
Fingers crossed though.
Scanning takes a few seconds.
Gavin
Yeah it looks like it would be bad if it hadn't. But Mike from prestige and performance said that if it was due to the haldex not being serviced properly it would cause the rear axle to stay bound rather than unbound. So he seemed to think from my brief description that it may be the controller or the pre-charge pump. However he said the launch technique might be an alright idea.
Gavin, if I went out and did a few launches tomorrow morning and stuff, and then found that my 4motion system was not working would you be able to scan it in the afternoon?
Cheers,
Jed
I am at work until 11.30 at the International terminal tomorrow and Sunday. Daren't offer afternoon time tomorrow, in case SWMBO has something planned for me, that I don't know about yet!
I'll pm my number to you later, you can call in the morning and tell me how you went.
Gavin
Okidoke, that would very much appreciated mate.
Thanks heaps
Jed
They never do it its like they don't know it's there lol
It's piss poor if I'm honest. Because as far as I'm concerned if it is a requirement of a car for it to be serviced it should. And it should be included in the price for the service. It just sucks because they could well just say that they did it, and there's no real way of seeing if they did
Alrighties, so after testing my haldex yesterday it is definitely not engaging the rears
Sorry I didn't get back to you Gavin, I had to wait till late yesterday afternoon to test it.
So hopefully tomorrow arvo I will be able to take it in to Mike Weber prestige and performance for him to diagnose if it's the computer, pump, diff, or whatever and then quote me for a fix etc. and then have her booked in
Thanks for all the help over the past couple days guys. Plenty of really good information
Hopefully I'll see some of you around at meets and what not!
Jed
SO, I took my beauty into Mike at Prestige and Performance today. As soon as he had a look at the Haldex he worked out the pump wasn't working at all and that this would be the cause (most likely).
He gave me a reasonable quote for labor and an oil and filter change and told me that the pump (actual part) is $1200 in Aus!
So he is gonna make a call or two over the next day or so and see if he can get it cheaper from America for me (awesome bloke for actually bothering to shop round for me)
As my dad is actually in America on business currently does anyone know if he would be able to pick one up on the cheap from?
And roughly how much?
