The stock airbox flows plenty for the stock turbo and keeps your ignition amp nice and cool. Some holes in the bottom and a new panel filter will give you a nice increase in induction noise and maybe 1 or 2 kilowatts

What did you do with the ICM (thing that is attached to the side of the stock airbox) when you put the pod on? I've read too that oiled filters like the ones from autobarn and supercheap are bad for the MAF but im not 100% sure lol.

Have a look at the EVOMS intake for Mk4, awesome sound/function

The EVOMS intake still legal in NSW? i thought they had to be fully in closed? they do look nice though. I'm using a stage 1 AFE that came with the car but I'm a little up in the air with it atm.

It would be illegal then. It comes with a shield but the top is open. Just explained on my thread that i got done for that exact thing the other day, even tho the filter is technically fully enclosed when the bonnet is closed.

Theres the BMC CDA intake too which is a fully enclosed carbon airbox, doesn't sound anywhere near as cool tho and I personally think my car has felt way more responsive with the EVOMS

get some tin or something and just screw it over the top of the EVOM airbox?
could you use a steel mesh like flyscreen stuff and say its enclosed?

I just kinda cable tied it to the hole where the airbox screw went in. I went and bought a proper sized pod from super cheap and same things still happening. I'm just gonna run stock air box and get a new filter btw none of the pods I bought were oiled. Thanks everyone for your help
