I think it's a bit optimistic. Driveline loss should be closer to 30%, not just for polos, but as a general rule. AWD will be around 40%.

Yeah mate I know they are at the fly, but they are still legit measurments. Unless I've said ATW before then I've always meant at the fly Would be awesome to get that at the wheels on a K04!! All I'd hope for is 150ish ATW and 300+nm ATW. I wouldn't expecting to get a rocket ship but it shouldn't be written off as a mod, going gt28 is in a whole different league than K03s/K04 turbos and both have their places. A good point on the K04 is it makes more power/torque than the gt28 up until 3500 or so, but then you wave goodbye as the gt28 takes off ...apple and oranges

The MK4 starts off with a K03 and not a K03s like the Polo.

The problem as I see it is all about the budget. The software is pretty much the same money regardless of the route taken. The law of diminishing returns comes into play. As you spend the extra cash you get less for your money.

I'd definitely have a downpipe, turbo inlet pipe and dv on my shopping list if I were you. A set of S3 brakes are must have too IMO. After that you could go with plain software and have a great daily driver.

To go further, will ramp up the expense. I'd look at a front mount intercooler, exhaust manifold to go with a change of turbo. For me going past a KKK isn't the way. So I'd look for a good K03s or K04 and hardware as appropriate. S3 kit if you go with the K04.

Start off with want you want to end up with and then work backwards to the start point. Avoid changing the plan, especially after you have paid for software that you want/need to change, which will cost you again.

Glad we could help. Stock turbo has plenty of power, its all about helping unleash it without spending big money to do little things that make little difference.

    Enjoy...
