It does look very type 3/ fastback
The old one was a bit odd looking, it looked the same from front and back.

There's no way they'll let it steal sales from the TT. To me, the link to the Beetle is already pretty much lost - at least the original New Beetle had the classic Beetle look, this has deviated away too far IMHO.
