i had the same problem, rev it up in neutral to about 6000rpm see if any black smoke comes from the back, ur fuel sensor may need to be changed as did mine, once i changed it there was no smell. or run a diagnostics test

Well see i've tried a 4 Bar FPR and what would happen is that my car would just die, as in loose power and the rpms would drop...bt when it didnt happen it would run like an animal...

It was just happening too much so i changed to 3.5 Bar and it runs better but still does the same thing....

As for the smoke...i was running V Power racing which is 100 octane and it was idling and the black smoke was coming out.

All the above was happening when i was using V Power Racing

Changed to BP Ultimate and all was fine until sunday when i was near empty and it was just doing silly thing...filled up with BP Ultimate and it was fine...but again it doesnt boost consistently. I have my boost gauge and although its not the most accurate instrument i know what it feels like when its pulling hard...

I have been told our cars are not made for shell v power racing 100 oc.its a waste of money and fuel.
anyway, sounds like you are overfuelling.check it out asap.... keep in mind the 1.8t chipped is commonly known to blow some black smoke but not the other things you have mentioned.
is your turbo blown???? has anyone checked???just a after thought....
keep us up to date with what happens............@@!!!!!

That exactly what happened to me, even with the bp ultimate which i use to this day the smoke was coming out and it had the petrol smell, its the fuel sensor its gone. Try this, get someone to rev the car to about 6000-7000 rpm and put a cloth behind the exuast and see if any leaks come out. Changing the fuel wont help anything.
When you start the car, when the engine is cold, is the rpm roughly at 800? if it is it should be higher. Anyway run a diagnostics test to be sure. But yeah i reckon your sesors stuffed
