Well, I did my best to get out there, after droping my wife at the station.
School zones and peak hour traffic made it not a very pleasant journey.
After registering at the office, I found myself with about 3 minutes to find and inspect the car.
As soon as I finally spotted her, security told everyone to leave as they needed to close the gates (10.00 am).
I managed to persuade a security officer for 1 minute to look at the car.
Obviously not enough time to really inspect the car but thats all I had.
The rear suspension was ok and the wheels didn't have positive camber. Must have been how it was sitting in that particular photo.
Key was out and Kms were not visable. Leather was in good condition.
The tape that was on the steering wheel in the photos had been removed and the steering wheel was not split in any way.
The engine did appear to be pushed back, more so on the drivers side but could not be rocked.
The sump guard was gone and the sump appeared to be good with no damage.
I didn't see any kinks in the engine bay but really didn't have the time that I needed.
Since I couldn't wait around I don't yet know what it went for.
I did however make arrangements to call and find out after 3pm today.
Have already tried but the phone just goes to voicemail.
Will post selling price, once I get a hold of them (after 3pm)
My GTI has cost me just over 9K without rego, so I too will be spewing if the R32 goes for anywhere near 7K.
I'm guessing somewhere between 11-15K but just a guess.

After seeing it, what do you genuinely believe it to cost to restore? Or is it likely that it will be parted out?
Manaz cancelled a meeting with me this morning to "attend an interview". I smell potential dodginess here he may have snagged himself a R

I'd say it will be repaired and for sale again soon. Bigger profit margin.
Cost depends on genuine or aftermarket parts, mechanical issues and what you can do yourself.
If I was doing it for myself, I'd use an aftermarket bonnet, radiator support.
Genuine bumper reinforcement, genuine radiator/condensor aftermarket bumper.
Have the chassis straightened, replace the parts myself and spray it myself.
All up 6-7K (Allowing 3K for unknown mechanical issues)
Hope he did. I'd prefer it to go to someone that will appreciate the car not just the profit.Manaz cancelled a meeting with me this morning to "attend an interview". I smell potential dodginess here he may have snagged himself a R
