    Oil filters

    Where do you get yours from? I think I'm gonna dump mine tonight befoe the vic cruise on the weekend...

    Got mine from Hanvic South yarra parts. 20 odd bucks I think.

    Had them in stock. They are MANN filters ... Volkspower uses them. What Oil you using ?

    Keep in mind, mine is a V6.

    I use Mobil 1 5w-50. I'm picking up a filter from HSY this arvo...

    Why such a thick oil for a cold climate ?

    Using OEM Volkswagen filter, had issues with the MANN filter sticking like super glue....

    Interesting... I know bugger all about oils. What would you recomend then and why?

    Mann make the original filters for VW. Genuine filters cost around $20

    Andrew, what oil would you recomend for a mk4 gti with roughly 120k on it?

    Mate Castrol magnatec 10/40 cant beat it mate i swear by it man. I look after a lot o them up here in Brizzy and no dramas with it. We started using the Mobil at Porsche and it caused some dramas but you will have so many conflicting stories about oil mate every one has heard one thing or an other.
    My preference is good ole magnatec
