Noisy Oil Pump

So... How hard is it to replace in a 1.6 Golf.

Without having had too much of a look underneath, can I get the sump off without dismantling most of the front end?

Secondly, where's the best place to find said pump?

I haven't changed a sump before but seen a Golf up on a hoist.

From what I remember you don't need to take the front end off to get to the sump.

I think that if you were to take on the job yourself, the hardest thing would be to get it up high enough off the ground to get to the sump.

As for the best place, you should be able to source it from many of the online VW parts retailers....eg: ECS (though their shipping is stupid crazy) or might even be worth while to call your local dealer.
