    New User: Air Bag Module

    Hi all,

Can anyone help me by telling me where the air bag module is located on a Mk4 GTI?

    Thanks.

IIRC - And I could be wrong, just behind the drivers side kick panel.

The controller is right in under the centre console - like way forward directly underneath the air con controls (or even a little further) - Its bolted to the top of the centre tunnel there. T

That is one of the main crumple zones when you hit something solid & the engines tryong to come into the cabin

From memory, you will have to pull the centre console out to get to it.

Why are you pulling it out anyway?

IIRC these things need to be coded to the ECU anyway, something which you will need the unique code for you car for (and VAG-COM or similar)...

I bought a damaged GTI, both airbags have popped and I need to replace the air bag module along with the air bags and seat belts.
