Except KU31 are effing noisy in the last 2-3mm and they are directional, which kills it for me.
Which Michelin were you running that you only managed 20,000km? I've always found them to be long wearing. A lot of my mates run PSS, PS2 & PS3 & they all find them great on wear.
I found the KU31 to be a short lived tyre for my chaassis / driving style.
I also put 4 KU31 on Dad's Accord Euro because of the price and they were a bit of a disaster (really weird wear patterns) but I put that down to the driver & crap alignment.
225/40r18 KU31 run about $140ea in Sydney. I assume that they are $110 at Paradise Garage or whatever that cheap Kumho place is in Brissy?
I do about 25,000km/pa and if I was shelling out $1k every 9 months for tyres I'd be rethinking my tyre purchase stategy too. I'm happy to spend the money every 18 months.
