Conti are a good brand a bit soft wear quicker but no road noise good grip reasonably priced if you shop around
Kuhmo ecsta are a cheaper option good tyre but prone to feathering if w/a is out.
Then if you go higher brands like bstone,Pirelli or Michelin be prepared for cost but definitely good all round.

what are you doing with them? just daily driving, track, booting it around back roads?
    budget also?

235/40s have generally been cheaper and more common than the 225/40 in the past

the Achillies range are a good tyre if you want performance on a budget. plenty of big HP turbo falcons running them with good reports.
We have them on our R33 skyline with no dramas either, plenty of grip. maybe a bit quicker wearing than some of the more $$ tyres but for the money I haven't been able to fault them.

    Kumho Ku31 SPT $110 each + fitting.
Great grip, noise is not too bad, quieter than many Pirelli tyres I've had over the years.
    Last 50,000km no worries.

I have Kumho Ku31's and can't fault them for the price.

KU31s get really noisy & skatey when below 4mm tread.

For $200/corner youve got plenty of high quality choices. Just have a look on the Tempe Tyres website & browse the dozens of other tyre threads on here & you won't go wrong.

My choice (if available) is Michelin PSS followed by PS2 then PS3. (yes, i like Michelin). Goodyear Assymetric 2 would be my next pick
