by dash, i mean on top of the dash. Sorry, wasnt very clear there.
Ideally a vent replacement holder, or a steering column plastic replacement would be ideal. I like things to look like they belong. Unfortuanately i have a 250 $ gauge thats too big for everything ive come across thus far.

Oh ok,
Surely someone makes mk4 60mm steering column.
I have thought bout using that light switch gauge holder/vent so that i can have an extra gauge,
but I think it doesn't really match the .:R32 flap flush closing vents.
I have purchased the 42DD Brushed aluminium 3 gauge houlder for the single din to go below the centre console cup holders,
and above my aftermarket head unit from Greg Roles at Carformance.
I presume you have a boost gauge you want to run? why not eBay it and buy a string of 52mm gauges that way you can kick ass,
with, oil pressure, oil temp, and exhaust gas temp (the one I would like to have space for),
or just buy the single one in your pic above and a 52mm boost gauge.
my 2 cents.
Cheers Mate, good to see you are on the case ;) pardon the pun.

surprisingly, everything is suited to the smaller gauges. The boost gauge i have is a very good mechanical gauge, so im going to try and find an avenue or possibly fab something. Ill see how things go.
interior needs a massive clean to be up to standards. But i got this car at such an awesome price, i couldnt say no.

Mind telling how much you paid? (interested)
Also 42dd have an awesome a pillar pod and gauge that perfectly matches the interior lights if you wanna go that way and sell your 60mm one maybe???
42 Draft Designs
I have one and it's a great product (albeit I don't have the perfectly matched gauge)

I have a RHD Pillar pod for 52mm gauges. It is perfect! Black ABS, moulded unit.
Cost me about 50 from a place in the UK called Ricky-Racing.

Yea, would rather avoid the A pillar / above dash option. if i end up downgrading my gauge, ill get the steering shroud replacement.
so today i fitted the billy boat stainless exhaust. took a fair while to be honest (3 hours all up) and still needs some slight adjustments i think. great exhaust though.
heres some pics of the interior. Bit washed out from the flash, ill get some good day shots when we get some decent weather.

also quick question. why do my seats not have the recaro stitching, yet the others with recaro stitched, look the same. And also on that note, engine cover. Mine has a 1.8redT, most other GTIs ive seen have the 20V on them. is this something to do with the year they were released, or is my cover not from a golf gti ?
-
Great price dude!
Id be guessing that because it's a later model those things are different. You have the half mfd on the dash by the looks of it though? Earlier models didn't have this..
-
There was a change around 2002.5 or somewhat.
Recaro seats swapped for 1/2 MDF & remote locking.
I swear someone did a thread on this a while back.

just been driving the lil girl around. getting used to its german ways. love driving it. Spent a couple hours pulling the glovebox out of the dash, then taking the glovebox door off, then prying it apart. The locking mechanism was completely apart, so the door would not stay up. Fixed the internals and then glued the two halves of the door back together. and shes all working. so happy with that. cost me nothing.
Will have my lowered springs on monday by courier (massive issues with the seller on ebay, paid nearly a month ago). so ill fit them and hopefully be happy with improved handling and ride height. otherwise ill be pulling them back out once i get some coilovers from the UK.
